According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on 15 July, China's gross domestic product (GDP, preliminary figure) for the first half of 2026 (January to June) reached 69.5704 trillion yuan (1 yuan is about 23.9 yen), representing a 4.7% increase from the same period last year at constant prices.

The Chinese economy has withstood pressures and remained within a reasonable range. New growth drivers have developed rapidly, social welfare has been promoted strongly and effectively, showing continued resilience in development.
