China's GDP in 2025 surpasses the 140 trillion yuan mark, a 5% increase from the previous year.

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China on 19 January, China's gross domestic product (GDP, preliminary figure) in 2025 reached 140.1879 trillion yuan (1 yuan is approximately 22.6 yen). Calculated at constant prices, this represents a 5.0% increase compared with the previous year.
Amid the complex changes of the domestic and international economic environment, the Chinese economy has advanced despite pressures, developed in a new and better direction, achieved new results in high-quality development, steadily realised major targets in economic and social development, and successfully met the development goals of the "14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25)".
During the period of the 14th Five-Year Plan, China's economic scale consecutively surpassed the major thresholds of 110 trillion yuan, 120 trillion yuan, 130 trillion yuan and then 140 trillion yuan. (Editor JZ)
